Oklahoma Youth Arts Foundation and Oklahoma Youth Ballet is planning its Edmond’s Nutcracker production for December 2023. After years of involvement in the Edmond dance community, our artistic director, Joshua Brooksher has set his sights on developing a new and innovative vision for this holiday classic. This production will follow our guiding philosophy of collaboration and cooperation rather than competition among local area dance schools in order to facilitate participation for as many local students as possible. To see a production outline online, videos, photos of costumes and scenery in progress, or find out more about sponsorship packages and donate online please go to edmondsnutcracker.com or email info@oklahomayouthballet.com. This is an opportunity that cannot be missed for these talented students. The Oklahoma Youth Arts Foundation and its partners intend to support the Oklahoma Youth Ballet and our communities youth. We hope you will too.
Currently, most of the leading schools for classical ballet are located on the East or West coasts. This means that many serious dance students must relocate at an early age to seek high-level training. The purpose of OYB is to facilitate this type of world-class instruction with master-level instructors and performers so that the unutilized talent of our youth can emerge and flourish. Classical dance training builds the strong, focused, disciplined, and passionate leaders of tomorrow that our communities need. The world, and particularly Edmond, can only benefit from nurturing our greatest asset, our children. As they travel through life, they are our ambassadors; spreading the knowledge we have imparted to them. With your support, OYAF and OYB will strive to make our community a leader in the education of classical dance artists who will grace the stages of the world for decades to come.
